TalkSibi is a free language-exchange community. Members practise a new language with real native speakers — over chat, voice and video calls, and live voice parties — and help other people practise theirs in return. It runs in any modern browser, and there are apps for iOS and Android.
It is not a course and there are no lessons to sit through. The idea is simpler and older than any app: the fastest way to get comfortable in a language is to speak it with someone who already does, regularly, without being afraid of getting it wrong.
TalkSibi was built by a long-time Tandem user after a permanent ban with no explanation and no appeal — years of conversations and contacts gone overnight. That experience set the north star for this project: fair moderation you can question, transparent rules, and data that belongs to the person who created it. If we ever have to act on an account, the person gets told why and can reply to a human.
Adults aged 18 and over, in 480+ languages. Every profile is photo-checked before it can message anyone, and Report and Block sit on every screen — chat, call and party. We would rather be a smaller community that people feel safe speaking in than a bigger one they do not.
TalkSibi is free to use and no card is needed. Unlimited chat, unlimited voice calls, the games, the live language parties, clubs and partner matching are all free — there is no paid plan and nothing to unlock. Translation and the AI coach have a daily allowance, because each of those costs money every time it is used. See pricing for the detail.
TalkSibi is an independent project built and maintained by a small team. We use it ourselves, we read every piece of feedback that comes in, and we ship most weeks.
Ideas, bug reports and kind words are all welcome at contact@talksibi.com, or via the contact page.
TalkSibi's word games are our own, designed for language learners. Word Spies is an independent game and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Codenames or Czech Games Edition; where this site mentions Codenames it is a descriptive comparison only, to say what kind of game Word Spies is.

Adults aged 18 and over who want to practise a language by actually speaking it with real people, and native speakers who enjoy helping learners. It is not a course — it is a community.
No. TalkSibi runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or laptop. There are also iOS and Android apps if you prefer one, and you can install the site to your home screen.
There is no paid plan at all rather than a free tier that is really a teaser, every profile is photo-checked, and when nobody is online you can still practise with an AI partner that corrects you gently while you talk.
